After a dynamic career in high tech Global Protection and Crisis Management, I found my way to a very different way of living. I am now off-grid with my husband, tending 15 acres nestled in the Redwood Mountains of Scotts Valley. I bring a deep connection to nature into my Qi Gong practice, guiding weekly drop-in classes in Soquel, Santa Cruz, and Scotts Valley, California.
I am also a Wellness Coach offering occasional seminars, trainings, and 1:1 support. I have a Master’s degree in counseling psychology and am a Holden Qi Gong Tier 1 Certified Instructor.
Each season of the year brings a unique and powerful energy with it. What may come to mind are differences in light and sunshine: the darker days of winter versus long summer days. When we use our senses to tune into the natural world around us we discover much more.
In Spring, sunshine starts to warm the soil and dormant vegetation awakens. Seeds sprout, buds appear, early bloomers delight us. Energy is ACTIVATING. Hibernating creatures emerge, shaking off the sleepiness of winter. Spring is a time of action.
As the days lengthen toward the Solstice, energy EXPANDS into more blooms and the long growing season of summer. Vegetation reaches for its highest potential; days are long, creatures fully active.
By Late Summer (the fifth season) there is a shift as energy begins to STABILIZE. The intense growing period of the past months ceases, harvest activities initiate, the days shorten and once-glorious blooming slows and summer’s flowers tire.
Autumn brings a time of release. Harvest completes. Leaves spiral from trees and coat the ground. Energy is SOLIDIFYING and beginning to sink. In Winter, energy RESTS.
These shifts in energy charge and fill the natural world surrounding us. We may notice only the more obvious aspects or we may be impacted profoundly by these changes. Either way, a tapestry of shifting energy is occurring — with or without our conscious attention — creating a rhythmic pattern year to year. We can use the natural energy of each season to bring more balance and harmony to our lives.
I have introduced a Seasonal Seminar Series specifically designed around harnessing the energy of each season, moving participants to deeper discoveries within themselves and positive movement toward their unique goals. Combining individual work and small group gatherings offered seasonally, you can “find your way to well” and discover the path that best supports your needs. Together, we’ll awaken our healthiest selves.
